Facial Surgeries

Aesthetic facial procedures are numerous and vary depending on the patient’s needs and objectives.

• A facelift (rhytidectomy) aims to lift sagging facial tissues to reduce wrinkles and signs of ageing. About 4 weeks of recovery is generally required, combined with the use of post-surgical face garments to improve healing, while reducing swelling and bruising.
• Buccal fat removal (Bichat balls) aims to improve the definition of the cheeks by removing the buccal fat. Recovery is usually quicker than with other surgeries, with full healing taking about two weeks.
• Malaroplasty (cheekbone augmentation) aims to increase the volume of the cheekbones and cheeks to improve the definition and appearance of the face, through the use of silicone prostheses.
• Otoplasty aims to correct ear deformities, such as protruding ears, to improve the harmony of the face. The recovery period is usually around two weeks, with the use of compression bandages to support healing.

After the surgery, it is recommended to wear a compression garment for a few days or weeks upon medical indication. This will improve the healing process, will reduce oedema and swelling, and in some cases will improve the appearance of scars.
