Why use post-liposuction compression garments | post-operative bras?
After any plastic surgery procedure, surgeons always recommend wearing compression garments for 3-4 weeks during the post-operative period, including bras, compression girdles, and abdominal bands. Post-liposuction compression garments have been developed to provide better comfort for the patient and optimize the results, often based on the specific requests of plastic surgeons. We always recommend, during the pre-operative consultation, asking your surgeon to specify the appropriate garment for your procedure and purchasing two to allow for changes during post-operative check-ups.
Why is it essential to wear a postoperative garment?
- After the liposuction surgery, a virtual gap is created between the skin and the muscle in the space previously occupied by the fat tissue. A postoperative garment reduces this space preventing blood (haematomas) and inflammatory fluids (seromas) from depositing in that area.
- A compression garment significantly improves postoperative lymphatic drainage by removing pro-inflammatory fluids from the operated areas.
- It reduces the tensions at the edges of surgical wounds and improves the quality of scars.
- It allows the skin to firmly settle on the underlying tissues and to physiologically retract. This way it improves the result pursued by the surgery.

Quality and selection of materials?
